Wreck This Journal 2 - Pages 46 to 50

Forty Six. Trace The Things in Your Bag.

I placed everything from my bag (at the time, there's probably way more crap in there now!) onto the page and drew round each thing. Once I had drawn round them, I outlined them in black pen with some things being on top of others. I then coloured each thing a different colour with my promarker pens and labelled them. I'm happy with how this page turned out, except for the pencil lines around some things can't be erased because I've coloured over them.

Forty Seven. Cover This Page in White Things.

I'll take a better photo of this when it's done but I wanted to show the first part of this page. I started by covering both pages completely in tippex (or WHSmiths own brand as my tippex ran out a quarter of the way through). I then sat for a while and struggled to find white things. I found some white lace borders which I stuck down randomly, a few white stars I'd used on a card, some squares of fleece from my Proggy Penguin project (alliteration!), a cotton wool ball and cotton wool pad for makeup/nail varnish removing, a cotton swab, some corrugated card, some scoobies which I cut smaller to fit and a flip flop shaped notebook page. I'll add more as I find it but it's actually surprisingly difficult to find white things that isn't just paper.

Forty Eight. Scribble Wildly using only Borrowed Pens.

...

Forty Nine. Make a Sudden Destructive, Unpredictable Movement.

...

Fifty. Make a Mess, Clean it Up.

Another page I'm not sure about. I covered the left hand page in different colours of hole punched card and then placed the same amount on the right hand page in their coloured boxes. I think the right hand side of the page looks a little messy but I really can't be bothered to redo it as it took ages!

Forty One. Drip Something Here.

I started by covering the 'drip' with glossy accents.

Forty Two. Sew This Page.

Of course, it had to be the Deathly Hallows symbol! I just sewed straight into the page with red thread. It was actually quite difficult to sew without ripping the page, but I went over each line a few times to make them darker. I then covered the left hand page in lyrics and an image from A Very Potter Musical!

Forty Three. Glue a Random Newspaper Here.

So as I'm obsessed (and I mean obsessed) with Harry Potter, it just had to be a page from the Daily Prophet here. I did originally try drawing out my own page which was fine, until I got to the picture... I cannot draw people so I just put the original image that I'd tried copying onto the page instead.

Forty Four. Place for Your Grocery/Shopping Lists.

So I started by covering the pages in my receipts for different things I'd purchased and then stuck the shopping lists over the top. I'm not entirely sure if I like this page or not as it looks a little boring.

Forty Five. Collect The Stamps off Your Mail.

So this page started off pretty boring with the few stamps I had off my mail in lines. I then got in contact with someone from Australia who offered to swap stamps with me. She sent me soo many stamps! I also got some cool ones off my granddad that were old stamps featuring old kings/queens etc and a Quentin Blake themed stamp too! I love the look of the old ones, all their different colours, images and prices. It's also really cool to see our current Queen as she 'aged' through the different stamps and prices!

Thirty Six. Cover This Page in Office Supplies.

So I'm not done with this page yet but I only have so many office supplies (which is odd because I absolutely love stationary etc) I've stuck some staples up the top and covered the right hand page in arrow post its and stuck an elastic band over the left hand side. I need to raid my mums classroom and get some more supplies like paperclips!!

Thirty Seven. Bring This Book In the Shower with You.

This page was one that I was really scared to do because I thought it would wreck the entire journal, but I finally plucked up the courage to do it. I coloured the letters on the right hand page with normal pens and then covered the left hand page in distress ink by Tim Holtz. I covered the other pages in cling film to try and protect the journal a little bit and then blasted the shower. After the colours had run a little, I removed the journal and let it dry completely, then stuck images of the showering on the left hand page.

Thirty Eight. Tie a String to the Journal.

This is another page that I'm really scared to do. My mums friend did it around London and it was hilarious, but it also wrecked her journal - a lot. I'm terrified of the book coming apart completely. I've decorated the right hand page and will do the left hand side too before taking it for a walk! Hopefully now that my cover is protected with sticky back plastic, it should survive a bit more than normal?

Thirty Nine. Rub Here With Dirt.

Again, I've done the decorations of this page and just need to get the courage to deface the book with dirt. I've drawn some flowers coming up from the earth and their roots showing and I'll probably rub the dirt where their roots are.

Forty. Use This as a Test Page.

So far this page isn't that exciting, I feel like I've been too precise with it. I've updated it with metallic stars around the side and some more pens/pencils there. I'm still not sure how I feel about this page.

Thirty One. Place Sticky Things Here.

Because I didn't want to place anything gross here, I decided to use stickers. I was sorting through my wardrobe and I found these happy face stickers and banana stickers from when I was in primary school. My mum is a school teacher and I remember going into her classroom cupboard after school and just taking about 12 sheets of different stickers. Evidently I had used most of them because I only had enough for these two pages (in fact I had exactly enough for the yellow page!)

Thirty Two. Pretend you are Doodling on the back of an envelope.

I don't really like the right hand side, where I've added the colour and wish I'd done the whole thing like the left hand side. I've never been a very good 'doodler' but whilst on the phone to my best friend, I just drew random things, colouring with the black fineliner when I felt like it and I'm quite pleased with what I ended up with.

Thirty Three. Journal Golf.

...

Thirty Four. Paper Chain.

I started by drawing patterns on each one and then colouring them in with my promarkers. I cut them out and assembled into the book.

Thirty Five. Collect Fruit Stickers Here.

Twenty Six. Swing Wildly.

I've yet to do this page, but I've decorated the left hand side with a drawing of a brick wall. I'm looking forward to swinging the journal to unleash my inner frustrations but I'm also scared to do it because I don't want the journal to fall apart!

Twenty Seven. Pick up the Journal without using your hands.

...

Twenty Eight. Climb up High. Drop the Journal.

...

Twenty Nine. Compost This Page. Watch it deteriorate.

So far I've decorated this page and cut off the left hand side that says the word compost. My plan is to compost that one part and then attach it after a few weeks to the rest of the left hand page in a clear bag.

Thirty. Do a really ugly drawing.

I haven't quite finished this page either as I plan on drawing some more on the right hand page. This was another page that I had no idea what to draw so I just started doodling some spiders which are my biggest phobia and I'll probably decorate the right hand page in a similar fashion.

Wreck This Journal 2 - Pages 21 to 25

Twenty One. Make a Funnel.

So for this one, I used colourful Stabilo 68 pens and drew on a funky pattern in alternating colours. I then cut out the page, cut out the funnel, taped it up and filled it with water. The colour began to run immediately, especially the blue.

Twenty Two. Tear Out, Crumple.

I stuck the funnel on the left hand page with some patterned wrapping paper and then put the crumple page on the write hand side with a polaroid of me crumpling it up. Unfortunately, I'm not quite used to my new Instax Mini 8 camera yet so it was blurry but oh well!

Twenty Three. Wrap Something With this Page.

So I wrapped up some old train tickets as that was the only thing that seem to fit well enough to be wrapped with the page and then attached it to the back of the crumple page. I need to decorate it somehow, but I might just end up leaving it as it is.

Twenty Four. Tongue Painting.

On the right hand side is the tongue painting page. My plan is to cover the background in pictures or drawings of skittles and then lick inside the circle with some. I will probably then cover it in sticky back plastic so I never have to touch the stain again! I've definitely been putting this page off because of how much I hate the idea of leaving a lick stain on the page. I have an actual phobia of seeing chewed up food and its even so bad that I used to gag in school when people would chew paper and spit it out!

Twenty Five. Write One Word Over and Over.

So this page was done because of my love for the programme Doctor Who, particularly David Tennant! I stuck some Ten episodes on and began. I took a dark blue pen and wrote the word 'Doctor' over and over in the background. I then felt that the page needed something so I created a TARDIS out of patterned blue papers. I like the background on this page but I'm not convinced by my makeshift Tardis. I might end up changing it.

Wreck This Journal 2 - Page 16 to 20

Sixteen. Draw Lines While in Motion.

So for this page, I carried on the footprint theme around the edge then drew small 'icons' in each corner for the different modes of transport; walking, bus, car and train. I did the walking whilst walking around my neighbourhood and got some very strange looks!

Seventeen. Fill this Page with Circles.

For this page, I bought about 6 packets of different sized googly eyes and then stuck them down with tombow glue until I had completely covered the page! On the left hand side is a cross over between Harry Potter and Mean Girls.

UPDATE 5th April 2015:
So I had to remove all the googly eyes from this page because I couldn't turn the page over and when I did, the eyes came off the page (probably due to the adhesive I used) It's now a circle background paper with some eyes stuck on. I'm disappointed that I had to change it because I loved this page.

Eighteen. Document Your Dinner.

So for this page, I decorated the left hand side with some decopatch paper and a frame holding different foods that I like. On the right hand side, I covered what I could with starburst wrappers (again, in the flavours I like, but that's not done yet) and then placed a die cut frame and piece of paper on top where I recorded my dinner for the week like a diary. I did it this way because I was really grossed out by the prospect of splattering food onto my page. I'm not sure if I will do that and then cover it with sticky back plastic or not but for now, this page is finished apart from those last wrappers.

Nineteen. Chew On This.

My inspiration from this page came from the Pacman game. I drew out a 'course' (which is really bad because I made the top half too big so had to squeeze in the bottom half) and then coloured in Pacman and each of the ghosts. I still need to do something on the left hand page.

Twenty. Make a Paper Aeroplane.

I decorated my plane, stuck it on the left hand page of the 'chew on this' page and then drew some clouds and wrote a quote.
